View at your own pace with self-guided tour
The self-guided auto tour is a great way to view the battlefields. You can pick up the guide and map at the new visitor center, which is wheelchair accessible. Another option is to have a licensed battlefield guide come with you in your car for the tour. At the different stops on the tour, some of them are not wheelchair accessible to fully explore the uneven or rocky surroundings but you can view the area and the information signs and exhibits. There are not many bathrooms available on the tour but the visitor center bathroom is wheelchair accessible. The park also provides free wheelchair loans at the visitor center for you to use. The walking trails throughout the park are not easily accessible by wheelchair, except for the Cemetery Ridge trail, which is partially paved, and the National cemetery trail, which is fully paved.
